ABOUT

ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting directly to the Chief Ethics Officer, the Senior Ethics Officer will contribute to the development and enforcement of AIIB’s ethics-related policy framework, promoting the applicable ethical standards of conduct and embedding them within the Bank’s institutional culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Contribute to the development of the Bank’s ethics policy framework, its implementing rules and guidance, and the interpretation thereof, in accordance with AIIB internal legal framework and the prevailing international administrative law and jurisprudence.
2. Provide advice to AIIB personnel (including officials of the Board of Directors) in order to avoid, mitigate or resolve actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest, including in the case of external activities.
3. Provide advice to AIIB personnel on the ethical standards in relation to a respectful work environment.
4. Promote and help embed the applicable ethical standards within AIIB’s culture, including through training and other means of outreach and awareness-raising activities.
5. Supervise, conduct, or support investigations into alleged misconduct by AIIB personnel, including alleged inappropriate behavior and related fact-finding.
6. Prepare investigation-related reports, formulating related recommendations.
7. Contribute to the development of the Office’s case management system.
8. Contribute to the Office’s knowledge management, keeping the Office abreast of ethical standards and best practices across multilateral development banks and other international organizations, including the prevailing jurisprudence.
9. Carry out other assignments as determined by the Chief Ethics Officer or their deputy.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
1. Ability to perform under pressure and interact with tact and sensitivity.
2. Strong understanding of international ethical standards and principles.
3. Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external parties.
5. Advanced degree in law (preferably international law, human rights law, or international administrative law), criminal justice and investigation, employee relations, organizational psychology, or a related field of study.
6. Minimum of 8 - 10 years of related experience, preferably within an international organization.
7. Candidates with experience pertaining to only some of the responsibilities listed above are welcome to apply.
8. Fluency in English is required.
