JOB DESCRIPTION

GIZ International Services is planning to apply for an EU funded project: “Compete Ghana" –
Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) in the Implementation of the Stepping Stone Economic Partnership Agreement (iEPA) And Related Accompanying Measures.
The overall objective of the Compete Ghana programme is, in the context of the Ghana beyond aid vision, to improve economic governance and business environment and to maximise the benefits of the EPA for Ghana.
The specific objective is to strengthen Ghana’s administration capacities in the implementation of the EPA as well as to strengthen the competitiveness in Ghana and enhance her integration into the regional and international trading system, in coherence with Ghana |

YOUR PROFILE
Qualifications and skills
1. The key expert should have a Master’s degree in Economics, Trade, Finance, Business development or allied subjects; or equivalent professional experience of at least 2 years in addition to the requested general professional experience.;
2. Fluency in written and spoken English;
3. Computer skills: word processing, spreadsheet and power point presentations.
General professional experience
At least 6 years of experience in SME and/or export development.
Specific professional experience
1. Experience in the development and implementation of strategies and workplans to stimulate foreign trade, including market research, market penetration and sales promotion.
2. Experience on EU funded projects is an asset;
3. Experience in Ghana and the West Africa region is an asset
LOCATION INFORMATION
Location of the programme will be in Accra at the EPA Secretariat hosted in the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Travel may be required at the regional and district levels, as well as outside Ghana, especially in the case of the study visits.
The intended start date is June 2019 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 36 months from this date.
