JOB DESCRIPTION
The Better Migration Management (BMM) program aims to improve migration management in the region, and in particular to curb the trafficking of human beings and the smuggling of migrants within, through, and from the Horn of Africa. The program has four components: policy harmonization, capacity building, protection of vulnerable migrants, and awareness raising. BMM is implemented by GIZ in partnership with European and International agencies, such as Expertise France and IOM, respectively.
YOUR TASKS
1. Conducting research and writing in the fields of migration law and policy
2. Assisting with the research and editing of reports, briefings, and other documents
3. Supporting the members of the GIZ BMM team in Ethiopia in implementing the BMM project
4. Helping with the coordination and communication with regional GIZ BMM colleagues in Kenya and Sudan
5. Support project monitoring and reporting
6. Support the team in knowledge management and information exchange as well as in event organization and administrative tasks
7. Assists in the preparation and conduct of training sessions and attends training events as necessary and directed
8. Attends meetings, as directed, on behalf of BMM and prepares appropriate reports
