FIELD OF ACTIVITY The program “Strengthening Capacities for Land Governance in Africa (SLGA)” is jointly implemented by the African Land Policy Center (ALPC), the Government of Germany and the World Bank and has the objective to strengthen human and institutional capacities for the implementation of a sustainable and development-oriented land policy. The SLGA program is part of the special initiative ‘One World, No Hunger’ and provides support in the following areas of action: 1. Establish training and education capacities in the field of land policy in Africa; 2. Institutional and technical strengthening of ALPC through establishment of a Network of Excellence on Land Governance in Africa (NELGA); 3. Strengthening of applied research in Africa for monitoring, evaluation and knowledge ex-change in land governance; 4. Strengthen capacity of African Union institutions to support land policy development.
YOUR TASKS 1. Responsibilty for the technical and organizational implementation of the components “Availability of land-related data and monitoring of land governance processes” and “Strengthening research capacities of Africa universities” within the SLGA program 2. Ensure the steering, planning, organization and monitoring of the components and activities in the assigned area of responsibility 3. Responsibility for the coordination of the implementing partners (RCMRD, NEPAD, ALPC, NELGA universities and research institutions, consulting firms) to ensure a harmonized approach 4. Responsibility for the building and strengthening of networks with relevant cooperation partners (donor and UN organizations, NGOs, etc.) 5. Manage the staff members employed within the framework of these components 6. Responsibility for monitoring and knowledge management of the related activities
