JOB DESCRIPTION
Support to East African Market Driven and People Centred Integration (SEAMPEC)Regional integration is a major development strategy for the countries of Africa, which all share the aim of continent-wide economic, social and cultural integration by 2028. An important aspect of this is trade liberalisation. This is to be achieved through regional free trade areas, progressing towards customs union, a common market and ultimately monetary union. The East African Community (EAC) is one of eight regional economic communities recognised by the African Union (AU), and the only one that has a vision of political federationThe interns will support the management of SEAMPEC, which aims at improving the framework conditions for increasing value added in selected regional economic sectors in the EAC.

YOUR TASKS
The intern will support the programme in communication and digital marketing. This includes:
1. Support the implementation of the communication strategy with focus on digital presence and tools
2. Support to public relations through journalistic research and written texts, pictures and video development and support of the programme’s digital presence and the IIDEA web site
3. Development of social media tools and content such as .gifs, banners, video clips, stats graphics
4. Development and editing of communication tools of the programme, such as factsheets, newsletter, flyers and brochures, Facebook articles or studies (knowledge of basic graphic design tools required)
5. Support to the preparation and organization of internal and external events of the programme
6. Any other tasks as may be assigned by the programme management.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
YOUR PROFILE
1. You are in a later stage of a master university course or have recently achieved a master degree in studies such as media and communication science, business management, digital marketing or graphic design.
2. You have gained basic knowledge of development theories and policies and first experiences in communications / digital marketing.
3. Good intercultural skills, experience in working in an international context, excellent communication and cooperation skills and strategic thinking are among your special strengths.
4. You are able to express your thoughts very well in writing and orally, both in German and English and are able to explain complex facts and circumstances in easily understandable language.
5. You are a good team player, well organized, able to work independently and grasp new topics and knowledge areas quickly.
6. You are familiar with the Internet, social media, search engines, Adobe (Indesign, Photoshop) and the usual Microsoft Office applications.

NOTES
Please be informed that you are only allowed to apply for this internship, if you are currently enrolled as a student or graduated not longer than six months ago.
We pay a monthly stipend of €1.580,- (gross). Depending on the country of assignment a monthly expatriation allowance (gross), predetermined by GIZ will be paid on top.
