JOB DESCRIPTION The transitional assistance project aims to improve the social and economic capacities of the communities, households and individuals in the target region. It does so by operating in two fields of action: (1) income generation (promoting agriculture, agricultural processing, marketing, etc.) and (2) local peacebuilding (dialogues, gender empowerment, strengthening local conflict-management structures). It forms part of a development-cooperation programme consisting of several technical and financial cooperation modules, which promotes peacebuilding in eastern Congo.
YOUR TASKS 1. Being responsible for monitoring and evaluation and for knowledge management in close cooperation with the relevant national personnel; 2. Supporting the officer responsible for implementation in reporting and external communication; 3. Managing technical aspects of the gender-empowerment and peacebuilding activities; 4. Acting as line manager for the respective national personnel.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. A university (master’s) degree in social science or economics; 2. In-depth knowledge and experience of at least one of the following topics: transitional assistance, peacebuilding and rural development; 3. Several years of work experience in development cooperation; 4. Experience with GIZ, experience in sub-Saharan Africa and in fragile contexts would be an advantage; 5. Business fluency in French, good English and good German would also be an advantage.
LOCATION INFORMATION The position is a non-family post, based in Bukavu. The GIZ offers an additional benefits package for deployments in fragile security situations.
