JOB DESCRIPTION The aim of the project is to bring together and strengthen the capacities of international and national actors to support peaceful development, as part of the International Security and Stabilization Support Strategy (ISSSS).
The project cooperates closely with the Technical Secretariat (SSU) of the ISSSS and thus supports Congolese civil society, for example with peacebuilding, gender empowerment and human rights efforts. The project is integrated into a development cooperation programme that comprises multiple modules.
YOUR TASKS 1. Ensuring knowledge management within the project 2. Responsibility for preparing material for communication within the project and external communication relevant to the programme 3. Supporting the officer responsible for the commission in commission management 4. Responsibility for monitoring and evaluating the project 5. Supporting the officer responsible for the commission with cross-project matters relating to the development cooperation programme 6. Additional technical advisory tasks within the project

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. University degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies or similar qualification 2. Several years of professional experience in development cooperation 3. Experience with and understanding of methods and formats within GIZ 4. Strong expertise and work experience in areas such as peacebuilding, stabilisation of human rights or gender empowerment 5. Experience in working in sub-Saharan Africa would be an advantage 6. Fluent in German and very good knowledge of French
LOCATION INFORMATION The position is a non-family post, based in Bukavu. The GIZ offers an additional benefits package for deployments in fragile security situations.
