JOB DESCRIPTION The country component in Togo of the global program “Green Innovation Centers for the agriculture and food sector” (ProCIV) of the special initiative One World - No Hunger (SEWOH) covers all five regions of the country (Lome, Kpalime, Sokode, Kara and Dapaong).
Its main objectives are to increase the income of farmers and of micro, small and medium enterprises involved in the cashew, groundnut and soybean value chains and to create jobs. The Conseil Interprofessionnel de la Filière Anacarde du Togo (CIFAT), is the interprofessional organization for the cashew value chains of Togo.
The interprofessional organization CIFAT aims at promoting the cashew value chains and at defending the interests of its constituencies. Its mission entails promoting transparency and traceability in the sector, contributing to the promotion of cashew and of innovations in the sector, implementing collective actions towards climate change adaptation, lobbying and defending the interests of private sector actors towards government institutions and political decision makers.
YOUR TASKS 1. Advice to the set-up and improvement of demand oriented services to its constituencies 2. Advice and guidance to members in the production, processing and marketing of cashew 3. Knowledge management and monitoring of the activities implemented by CIFAT and their results 4. Identification of innovations in the cashew sector and their adaptation to the Togolese context 5. Contribution to ProCIV activities to identify suitable innovations to the implementation of the strategy for the development of the cashew value chain in Togo 6. The assistance to CIFAT being conceived as part time only, it is also expected taking part in the project activities, particularly in the cashew value chains, in collaboration with national technical staff of ProCIV

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. Agricultural engineer or master in agro-economics or equivalent 2. Strong competencies in agronomy and farming systems 3. Experience in advice to farmer organizations or interprofessional organizations 4. Sound Experience in facilitation skills or adult learning 5. Very good intercultural and communication skills; previous experience in the sub-region a plus 6. Knowledge of issues related to innovations in the agricultural sector a plus 7. Capacity to work in a team but also autonomously as well as capacity to work under time pressure; patience 8. Fluency in spoken and written French; German a plus
LOCATION INFORMATION 1. Place of residence: Sokodé, the regional capital of Centrale and the second largest city in Togo. It is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious city, but is dominated by Islam 2. Climate: Sokodé enjoys a tropical climate, with two distinct seasons: the rainy season, which lasts from April to October, peaking from July to September and the dry season from November to March; temperatures range from 20 ° to 35 °C throughout the year 3. Healthcare: Medical and pharmaceutical infrastructure is good, specialists can be found in Lomé 4. Supply and shopping facilities: Local supermarkets and African local markets are available, shopping possibilities according to European standards are to be found in Lomé and Kara 5. Accessibility: Sokodé is located about five hours North of Lomé and one hour South of Kara; bus lines and shuttle buses are available 6. School situation and school fees: Schools according to European standards are not available in Sokodé, but there are good international schools in Lomé
NOTES Willingness to travel regularly to the different regions of the country.
