The Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank, previously known as the PTA Bank and now rebranded and trading as Trade Development Bank (TDB), is a specialized African multilateral financial institution serving public and private sector clients in most of the Eastern and Southern African states. JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive, Syndications, the Principal Officer – Syndications shall be responsible for syndicating loan transactions and raising loan financing from lenders and other institutional investors.

The position holder works closely with other departments to structure and price loans to match market appetite and is responsible for developing investor appetite for lending to borrowers.

The role includes business development; managing loan syndication processes from origination to preparing information memoranda, book running, syndication structuring, legal negotiations to closing and oversight.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field. Relevant professional qualification (e.g. LMA certification/accreditation) from an accredited institution is an added advantage;
2. A minimum of 12 years of working experience as an investment banker/deal originator/credit executive in a busy global corporate banking or DFI environment performing demonstrable corporate credit risk analysis functions with ability to analyze risk-based transactions;
3. Strong financial analysis and financial modelling skills with thorough understanding of credit, investment and financial analysis and their application in investment decisions as well as transaction structuring;
4. Proven experience of working with local regulators to design and implement fully compliant structures in a changing regulatory environment;
5. Demonstrable regional experience (preferably in Sub-Sahara) with private, government and sovereign-owned enterprises with extensive network of investors and lenders;
6. A results-oriented individual with excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills;
7. Fluency in English is a requirement and fluency in the working language of TDB (French or Portuguese) will be an added advantage.
