JOB DESCRIPTION The program “Strengthening advisory capacities for land governance in Africa (SLGA)”is part of the BMZ special initiative ‘One World, No Hunger’ and contributes directly to achieving the objectives under the Action Area “promoting responsible land use and improving access to land”.
SLGA is implemented in cooperation with the African Land Policy Center (ALPC), the World Bank, the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), African universities and others.
The program provides support in the following areas of action: 1. Establish training and education capacities in the field of land policy in Africa; 2. Institutional and technical strengthening of ALPC through establishment of a Network of Excellence on Land Governance in Africa (NELGA); 3. Strengthening of applied research in Africa for monitoring, evaluation and knowledge ex-change in land governance; 4. Strengthen capacity of AU institutions to support land policy development.
YOUR TASKS 1. Supporting various project operations, particularly the activities of the ‘Network of Excellence on Land Governance in Africa (NELGA)’; 2. Supporting the monitoring and evaluation system of the project; 3. Assisting the project’s knowledge management, e.g. identifying and documenting good practices and writing of articles; 4. Organising workshops, trainings and other events; 5. Translations from English to French (and German).

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Political Sciences, Social Sciences, Geography or other relevant fields; 2. Experience in public relations, M&E, knowledge management; 3. Excellent command of spoken and written English and French; 4. Good command in German is an advantage; 5. Knowledge in the areas of land governance and higher education is an advantage; 6. Prior experience with gender mainstreaming is an asset; 7. Organizational skills, structured thinking, enjoy working in teams and good intercultural and communication skills.
NOTES Please be informed that you are only allowed to apply for this internship, if you are currently enrolled as a student or graduated not longer than six months ago. We pay a monthly stipend of €1.608,- (gross). Depending on the country of assignment a monthly expatriation allowance (gross), predetermined by GIZ will be paid on top.
