FIELD OF ACTIVITY
The Special Initiative Training and Job Creation aims to improve the conditions for sustainable economic and employment growth in Africa's partner countries and to promote investment. The measure "Job Partnerships and Promotion of SMEs" contributes to the achievement of objectives by working together with the Rwandan partners in the following fields of action: "The conditions for investment for European enterprises in Rwanda are improved", "The capacities of Rwandan SMEs in selected sectors/clusters for sustainable, employment-generating growth are improved", "The business ecosystem of selected sectors/clusters is improved". The programme and other programmes in the cluster will move together to a new office building in Kigali. For the expected renovation and conversion of the offices the Special Initiative Training and Job Creation is looking for an intern to support the conversion and moving of the offices

YOUR TASKS
1. Support of the project during an extensive renovation and conversion of office premises
2. Advising programme management on the design of employee-friendly offices
3. Planning of the conversion measures in cooperation with the programme management and the country office in Rwanda
4. Detailed construction supervision of the conversion work; contact person to the local contractors
5. Continuous communication with the responsible department of GIZ in Germany
6. Documentation of construction Progress
7. Support (depending on interest) on development cooperation topics within the framework of the project (especially in the field of economic development)
8. Also, if interested, support the project in its public relations work, including social media and websites.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
YOUR PROFILE
1. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or recently graduated (within last six months) in civil engineering, architecture or a related field Interested in an experience in the planning of office conversions abroad
2. First relevant experience, e. g. technically related internship or first work experience in the private sector
3. Interested in topics of sustainable economic development and private sector development
4. Reliable, independent, results-oriented, structured working style
5. Team player, enthusiastic, and with good communication skills
6. Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs
7. Working proficiency in English; knowledge of German is a distinct advantage and knowledge in French is an asset

HINTS
Please be informed that you are only allowed to apply for this internship, if you are currently enrolled as a student or graduated not longer than six months ago.
We pay a monthly stipend of €1.580,- (gross). Depending on the country of assignment a monthly expatriation allowance (gross), predetermined by GIZ will be paid on top.
