Position: Chief Economist
JOB PURPOSE
1. To provide economic intelligence and strategic planning information both of a qualitative and quantitative nature to the Bank
2. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategy implementation and update
2. Produces monthly infrastructure bulletins
3. Generates sectoral research reports e.g. Energy, Transport, Water & Sanitation, ICT and Housing sectors
4. Analyses fiscal, monetary and sectoral policies plus regulatory pronouncements in areas relevant to infrastructure
5. Produces weekly economic bulletins
6. Conducts periodic customer & key stakeholder satisfaction surveys for the Bank
7. Conducts competitor analysis research
8. Conducts case study analyses for benchmarks with Bank projects
9. Analyses opportunities, challenges and implications for the Bank
10. Analyses the development impact of projects being funded by the Bank
11. Monitors the implementation of the Results Measurement Framework

| REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Post Graduate Degree or equivalent professional qualification in the field of Development Economics, Strategic Management or equivalent in the field
2. At least 10 years' relevant experience
3. Experience working in a developmental financial institution will be an added advantage.
4. A proven ability to communicate and excellent presentation skills
5. Excellent analytical skills
