JOB DESCRIPTION
“Governance for Inclusive Development” (GovID) is a joint programme between the Government of Ghana and the Federal Republic of Germany, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Local Governance and Rural Development. The Regional Coordinating Councils (RCC) are responsible for coordination, backstopping and supervision of the districts in Ghana. In cooperation with the RCCs, GovID develops governance through improved transparency, accountability, participation and public service delivery in selected partner districts. The RCC will be supported to implement the programme activities.

YOUR TASKS
1. Supporting the RCC in organising activities and facilitating trainings in the districts
2. Advising and training the RCC in data collection and management
3. Facilitating a continuous exchange between RCC and districts
4. Promoting the application of participatory planning methods, the inclusion of civil society, the empowerment of women and the consideration of the interests of minorities
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
YOUR PROFILE
1. Degree and technical expertise in one of the following areas: urban, regional or spatial planning, geography, law, international relations or comparable qualification
2. Good knowledge and experience in planning procedures and methods
3. Working experience in / with public administration
4. Knowledge in geographic information systems (GIS)
5. Intercultural and communicational skills
6. Driving licence and driving experience
7. Very good English knowledge (written and oral)

LOCATION INFORMATION
1. Residence: 6 positions at 6 different district capitals - Bolgatanga, Koforidua, Techiman, Tamale and others
2. Climate: Hot dry climate in Bolgatanga and Tamale, hot humid climate with rainy season between June and September in Koforidua.
3. Medical supply: Basic provision at all locations, very good health facilities only in Accra.
4. Shopping: Items for daily needs at all locations, shops with European offer in the capital Accra.
5. School facilities: International schools only in Accra.
