JOB DESCRIPTION
As part of the TZ module " Program for the Reform of the Water Sector Phase II ", the development worker (DW) will advise employees of two state vocational schools on development and implementation of long-term and modular training offers that are relevant for the construction, operation and maintenance of water and sanitation facilities/infrastructure (water operators, plumbers, electricians).

JOB SUMMARY
1. The DW will advise on the content and implementation of the training modules, which will be certified by TEVETA, the Zambian regulatory authority responsible for TVET. The curricula for the training modules will be developed by an external consulting firm commissioned by the project. The DW will support the training of trainers, organizational development within the two schools and the updating of the schools’ equipment with teaching material. The TVET component strengthens the capacities of the two vocational schools in Mansa and Mwense to improve the quality of training courses relevant for the water and sanitation sector. This will contribute to better employment prospects in the region and will lead to an increase in the quality of services in the water sector.
2. The DW will be working as an advisor at Mansa Trades and Training Institute and report directly to its director. There the DW will work closely with the Training Institute in Mwense (100km from Mansa) and with a team of external technical consultants for water and sanitation supply, which are commissioned by the project, as well as with their main partner, the water utility Luapula Water and Sewerage Company (LpWSC).

YOUR TASKS
1. Advise vocational schools in Mansa and Mwense on the capacity development for training courses relevant for the water and sanitation sector
2. Support management and teaching staff in the efficient organization of vocational schools
3. Support the partners in determining needs and requirements regarding the equipment for the relevant trades and training coursed
4. Cooperate closely with stakeholders in Luapula, for example in the areas of water and sanitation and food security, which are supported through other technical cooperation projects
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
YOUR PROFILE
1. Solid professional background for advisory work in vocational education and training.
2. Ability to convey the interests of different actors within structured planning processes
3. Experience in the cooperation of local networks, preferably in an African context.
4. Hold a driver's license and have adequate driving experience for long cross-country trips
5. Good knowledge of written and spoken English
