JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project "Improvement of the Framework Conditions for a competitive Private and Financial Sector", which is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union aims to improve income and employment in rural areas of Mozambique. The work of the project focusses in three areas: (1) Improvement of the business climate, (2) private sector development through upgrading of value chains and (3) improvement of financial services and access to the formal financial sector. Current work is concentrated at national level and in the provinces of Inhambane, Manica, Sofala, Nampula and Zambezia. The project works in close cooperation with the global project "Green Innovation Centres in the Agriculture and Food Sector" which contributes to sustainable rural development through innovations in agriculture and the food sector.

YOUR TASKS
1. Developing and implementing a strategy to strengthen Information and Communication Technology (ICT) service providers for agriculture and inclusive business models
2. Providing advisory services to public and private partners of the projects, especially development of specifications of ICT solutions and identification of suitable providers for hard- and software
3. Supporting digital literacy initiatives at target group level (smallholders; micro, small and medium-sized enterprises) and roll-out of solutions
4. Adapting existing methodologies for training and other advisory services (for example global gap training, farmer business school, information services) to digital solutions
5. Developing ICT solutions for selected value chains and inclusive business models
6. Setting up cooperation with the Mozambican ICT and innovation ecosystem (accelerators, incubators, universities etc.)
7. Identifying regional and international providers of ICT solutions to transfer and adapt their solutions to the Mozambican context
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
YOUR PROFILE
1. University Degree related to digital change in social sciences, economics, ICT, media, engineering or equivalent
2. Proven ICT/IT knowledge and many years of experience of practical work in the ICT sector
3. Experience in development of ICT solutions for the agricultural sector as well as in software testing (systems, integration, regression) and digital literacy
4. Sound knowledge and/or experience in development cooperation and project management of development projects is an asset
5. Work experience within digital or innovation ecosystems is an asset
6. Very good communication and network skills
7. Fluency in English, written and oral; knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish desirable
