FIELD OF ACTIVITY The sector project "Sport for Development" is part of the Department for Economy, Social Affairs and Digitization in the area of sector and global projects. It is being implemented by GIZ on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and will run until September 2022. The focal points include the following partner countries and regions: Indonesia, Colombia, Morocco, Tunisia, Uganda, and the Western Balkans.
The core tasks of the sector project include (A) improving the positioning and visibility of sport for development by providing technical and strategic advice to BMZ Division 114 “Media, Culture, Creative Industries and Sport”; (B) strengthening capacities for using sport for development in selected countries; and (C) introducing improved approaches to impact measurement. The aim is to use sport and exercise as instruments for achieving development goals in different subject areas (e.g. education, health, inclusion, peace building, displacement). The project cooperates with the German Football Association e. V. (DFB), the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), the German Sport University Cologne (DSHS) and various civil society organizations as well as the private sector.
In Tunisia, the project works closely with the GIZ project "Strengthening youth policy and participation" to strengthen youth centers as places of social participation and professional awareness among young Tunisians.
YOUR TASKS 1. Coordination of the technical and content development and implementation of measures and activities in the field of sport for development at the Tunisia location and, if necessary, in other African countries 2. Advising the BMZ sector department "Media, Culture, Creative Industries and Sport" 3. Planning, implementation and monitoring of activities and measures 4. Sports pedagogical concept development of training methods and courses for trainers, youth workers and social workers with and in the project "Strengthening youth policy and participation" 5. Implementation of measures with relevant cooperation partners and networks in the intersection of sport for development, education and career orientation 6. Support for the establishment of cooperation with other German development cooperation projects and potential partner organizations for the sustainable dissemination of the sport for development approach

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. Completed university degree in the field of economics, social, political or sports sciences (pedagogy) or comparable courses 2. Several years of project implementation experience abroad as well as relevant expertise in the field of policy advice and international cooperation 3. Experiences in cooperation with actors relevant to sport such as sports associations and good knowledge of the structures and modes of action 4. High political sensitivity and professionalism in dealing with the client BMZ, other federal ministries and relevant actors from the political arena 5. Pedagogical experience with skills in trainer training and relevant international work experience in the field of sport for development are an advantage 6. Good organizational skills and strong communication skills 7. Business fluent knowledge of German as well as very good knowledge of French and English; Language skills in Arabic are an advantage
