ABOUT

FIELD OF ACTIVITY
GIZ supports the Namibian Statistics Authority (NSA) in providing suitable data and information for the National Planning Commission and in improving statistical procedures. The aim is to improve and harmonize national reporting with regard to the national development plans and the 2030 Agenda.

YOUR TASKS
1) Education and training to adapt the national statistical system to the challenges of the 2030 Agenda
2) Analysis of the data gaps and advice on how to close them
3) Methodical and organizational advice to the NSA on the further disaggregation of monitoring data of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as on the collection, processing and preparation of administrative data
4) Advising the NSA on improving inter-institutional cooperation mechanisms in the monitoring area
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
YOUR PROFILE
1) Successfully completed university education in mathematics, economics, engineering, economic geography, sociology or a comparable qualification
2) Expert in statistics, data collection and analysis, including statistical software such as R or SPSS
3) Project management skills and excellent English language skills
4) Experience in the context of statistical authorities and spatial data systems is an advantage
5) In-depth knowledge of the SDG indicator framework as well as experience in presentation and moderation
6) Work experience in the context of southern Africa / sub-Saharan Africa is desirable

LOCATION INFORMATION
