ABOUT
As a federal company, GIZ supports the federal government in achieving its goals in international cooperation for sustainable development.

FIELD OF ACTIVITY
The project for sustainable economic development in the mining sector consists of the components “Transparency and Participation”, “Capacity Building in Artisanal Cobalt Mining”, “Promotion of Local Content” and “Qualification in the Mining Sector”.

While the “Transparency and Participation” component deals with the social context in the mining sector, the other components are more concerned with targeted economic development in the mining sector.

The advertised position is located in Lubumbashi and mainly concerns the topic of sustainable economic development as well as the support of the component “transparency and participation”.

YOUR TASKS
1. Support in the implementation of the components "Promotion of Local Content in Mining" and "Professional Qualification in the Mining Sector"
2. Support in the implementation of the component “transparency and participation” in cooperation with and strengthening of civil society
3. Support with the "capacity enhancement in artisanal cobalt mining" by arrangement
4. Writing / editing articles as well as creating presentations and publications
5. Support of thematic work areas through research, processing of data and exchange with central actors
6. Support in the preparation and implementation of events and other logistical and organizational tasks
7. Work on knowledge management, impact monitoring and reporting.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
YOUR PROFILE
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in economics, political science or a related subject, ideally with reference to raw materials governance
2. Expertise in mining, private sector development, and / or professional education
3. Independent and structured way of working, quick comprehension and high flexibility
4. First experience in the field of international development cooperation
5. High level of intercultural competence and sensitivity
6. Communication skills, open-mindedness and enjoyment of working in a team
7. Very good knowledge of French and English; Knowledge of German is an advantage.

HINTS
The internship is only possible if you are currently enrolled, are in further training, the integral part of which is completing an internship, or if you graduated from the beginning of the internship no longer than 6 months ago.

The monthly internship remuneration is €1,608.00 (gross). Depending on the country of assignment, an additional monthly foreign allowance (gross), at an amount determined by GIZ, is added to the internship's remuneration.

Info: Medical care at international level is very limited. There is a subtropical climate in Lubumbashi, in other parts of the country there is a tropical climate. The leisure offer is limited.
