FIELD OF ACTIVITY
As a specialist in procurement and contracts at GIZ in Ethiopia and Djibouti, you will take on the entire range of tasks and support in this area and ensure that the services are properly provided. In doing so, you ensure compliance with the company's internal regulations from PuR at all times. You are responsible for the area of procurement and its local, regional logistical handling, also with regard to import and customs clearance as well as the award of services, construction work and financing contracts. They further develop the local standards and the instruments for the procurement and contract processes and ensure that they are disseminated in the country portfolio. They advise the users in the GIZ office and in the projects on all commercial, business and legal questions of procurement and contract management. The position to be filled is located in the country office, the various processes must be procured in accordance with public procurement law, transparently and economically.

YOUR TASKS
1. Support of the head of finance and administration (LFA) in the management and control of procurement and contract processes in the country office
2. Preparation and implementation of tenders and awarding of contracts for procurement and contracts as well as their follow-up management and applying the relevant public procurement regulations
3. Drafting and processing of contracts. Comprehensive advice and training for our internal customers from the country office and the projects on procurement and contract-related and logistical issues (including import and customs clearance) and other topics
4. Participation in the control and processing of special strategic projects as well as processing of higher-level procurement and contract-related questions and topics (donor-specific contracts)
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
YOUR PROFILE
1. Successfully completed studies with an economic / legal background or a solid commercial / business education.
2. Several years of professional experience in a commercial area of responsibility, preferably in purchasing or contract management and a strong understanding of procurement, contract and logistics processes
3. In-depth knowledge of the relevant guidelines such as UVgO, VOB, VgV, etc.
4. Knowledge of the BMZ's contract modalities and ideally also experience with co-financing from other donors
5. GIZ experience at home and abroad and extensive knowledge of GIZ instruments and procedures are an advantage
6. Structured and result-oriented way of working, strong initiative as well as teamwork and communication skills, good combination and comprehension skills and high intercultural competence
7. Very good MS Office knowledge; Experience in dealing with SAP
8. Proficient in German and English
