FIELD OF ACTIVITY
In Nigeria, despite the high economic growth rates in recent years, there has been no significant reduction in poverty or an increase in employment. The long-term focus on the capital-intensive raw materials sector, which offers comparatively few jobs, has led to a neglect of employment-intensive areas such as construction and agriculture. In addition, the establishment of an efficient vocational training system was neglected. The "Needs-based professional qualification and youth employment (SKYE)" project aims to improve the income-generating employment opportunities of Nigerian young people. On the basis of the integrated employment approach, the employability of Nigerian youth is improved along the construction and agricultural value chains, among other things.
YOUR TASKS
1. Conceptual development and control of the field of action
2. Specialist and organizational advice for central cooperation partners as well as coordination with other donor organizations in the field of vocational training
3. Management of a team of international and national employees as well as regional project offices
4. Operations, budget and expenditure planning and control
5. Responsible for planning, drawing up tender documents and managing the implementation of individual appraisal assignments and subcontracting to the consulting industry
6. Responsibility for financing contracts
7. Support of the management processes through strategic and operative planning, establishment and implementation of the monitoring & evaluation system
8. Responsibility for cooperation and synergies within the project as well as with other projects of the Sustainable Economic Development Cluster

| REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE
1. University degree in economics, social sciences, political sciences or international relations
2. Several years of experience in the implementation of international development cooperation projects
3. Several years of work experience in the vocational training sector abroad
4. In-depth knowledge of the German vocational training system and the establishment of vocational training systems in developing and emerging countries with national qualifications frameworks and competence-based vocational training systems
5. Experience in the systemic participation of business in vocational education and training
6. Leadership and management experience
7. Excellent diplomatic skills
8. Business fluent English and good German skills, additional foreign language skills are an advantage
