JOB DESCRIPTION The Global Programme Green Innovation Centres for the Agriculture and Food Sector is part of the One World – No Hunger Initiative launched by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The aim is to introduce innovations in the agriculture and food sector to increase income and productivity of smallholders, create employment opportunities in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and improve regional food supplies. The Global Programme works in 16 countries. In Nigeria it focuses on three fields of activity: local innovation systems, skills development and sustainable agricultural business. The programme works together with partners from the public and private sector, civil society and research institutions to implement tested, economically viable innovations in the rice, maize, cassava and potato value chains.
YOUR TASKS 1. Support the project coordination and management as well reporting to the global level 2. Coordinating the implementation of programmes in conjunction with the private sector partners 3. Collaborate with research and private sector partners regarding innovations 4. Support for coordination and implementation of the sustainability strategy for the institutionalization of the training approaches 5. Supporting the strategic planning and coordination of project activities in selected Value Chains 6. Planning and implementation of workshops, events and conferences 7. Coordination and supervision of various exchange formats

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics or related field 2. First experience with and/or interest in working with integrating the private sector in sustainable development for the agricultural sector 3. Knowledge in the promotion of agriculture value chains through integrated approaches in capacity development and business development in the agricultural sector 4. Strong oral and written communication skills 5. German language skills is an advantage 6. Cultural sensibility and ability to work well in a cross-cultural team 7. Ability to communicate well with interdisciplinary or multi-institutional teams 8. Team player and constructive attitude responding positively to critical feedback and differing points of view
