JOB DESCRIPTION The development cooperation measure Capacity Development and Qualification for Business Start-Ups in Niger implements strategies to promote employment and business opportunities. These are supplemented by short-term actions designed to generate immediate income for the population in an effort to counter the precarious labour market situation and to tackle poverty. The project’s primary target group is young women and men in Niger between the ages of 15 and 35. Support is also provided to local micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The project also works closely with chambers of industry and commerce and the staff of decentralised technical services. The objective of the project is to strengthen incubation centres so that operational strategies to promote female entrepreneurship can be implemented.
YOUR TASKS 1. Advising on the development of initiatives to help strengthen the leadership role of women in the private sector 2. Supporting synergies between structures that support women in setting up companies 3. Contributing to knowledge and innovation management in the area of female entrepreneurship 4. Leveraging good practices in the field of female entrepreneurship for a MSME incubator 5. Advising on vocational training for start-ups in Niger (ProEMPLOI), providing advice to other development cooperation projects and the GIZ country office on strategic and operational planning with regard to gender-specific issues

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. University degree in business administration, administrative sciences or social sciences or a comparable qualification, with several years of professional experience 2. Knowledge of promoting MSMEs 3. Knowledge of gender mainstreaming 4. Experience of providing organisational advisory services 5. A highly motivated individual with an excellent tolerance of ambiguity 6. Fluency in business French and English (written and oral); knowledge of other languages (German) would be an advantage
