JOB DESCRIPTION
The global project "Employment in rural areas with a focus on youth”, financed by the special initiative "ONE WORLD - No Hunger" of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aims to improve the qualification and employment situation in rural areas, especially for young people. BMZ commissioned four country packages: Malawi, Burkina Faso, Mozambique and Kenya. The target group are job-seeking and underemployed young people, especially young women, and young agripreneurs aged between 15-35 years.

YOUR TASKS
1. Support the National Youth Council of Malawi and affiliated youth organisations through organisational and skills development and the creation of a youth employment conducive environment
2. Conceptualise and implement a digital job matching platform to support youths by linking them to training, internships and job opportunities within the agrifood sector
3. Establish and maintain organisational links to Agricultural Technical Vocational Education and Training centres, government partners, the private sector and other stakeholders
4. Provide technical support and representation to the practice-oriented stakeholder dialogue, workshops and working groups, community of practice
5. Technical support to relevant matching actors on preparation of labour market information for the target group
6. Promotion of established structures and offers
7. Regular reporting in accordance with deadlines
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
YOUR PROFILE
1. University degree in social science, development studies, agribusiness management, youth development, organizational development, economics or equivalent
2. Several years of work experience in youth development, job matching and employment services, agribusiness or a related field
3. Work experience in international cooperation, ideally in the agri-food sector, vocational training or employment promotion
4. Proven experience in organisational development or consulting and network building in an intercultural context
5. Experience in implementing digital formats, information and communications technology solutions, digital communications and social media management
6. Ability to work in an international team and networking skills combined with the talent to think conceptually and analytically
7. Structured, independent working style with a high degree of flexibility and creativity
8. Fluent in English and German

LOCATION INFORMATION
The security situation is tense. Tailored security risk mitigation measures are in place for GIZ staff in country. GIZ staff must adhere to security measures at all times. The freedom of movement is restricted. GIZ does not impose any restrictions on life partners and family members to move with you to the country of deployment.
