JOB DESCRIPTION Within the framework of one of its fields of activity, GIZ’s Biodiversity and Sustainable Forest Management Project , assists in improving the planning, implementation and media skills of the structures and stakeholders involved in local governance processes. At the provincial level in particular, the local authorities and municipal Comité Locale de développement (CLD) committees receive support in creating and implementing development plans. The focus is on improving the sustainable use of forest, grazing and agriculture resources in the regions bordering Lomami National Park.
YOUR TASKS 1. Improving and strengthening the local development planning skills of local development stakeholders 2. Supporting two CLDs in planning and implementing specific development measures 3. Assisting in acquiring, managing and administrating funds for implementing development measures 4. Promoting regularly sharing experiences among the various development stakeholders at the local level 5. Communicating with the interdisciplinary teams in the project's three offices

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. University degree and work experience in one of the following areas: social sciences, municipal planning, environmental science, forestry or a similar discipline 2. Work experience involving civil society organisations in the context of participatory development planning 3. Good knowledge in the planning and implementation of community projects in particular 4. Work experience in francophone Africa or regional experience in sub-Saharan Africa 5. Excellent intercultural and communication skills 6. Willingness to work in basic conditions in the local communities 7. Business fluency in French; Swahili and German language skills would be an advantage
LOCATION INFORMATION The GIZ offers an additional benefits package for deployments in fragile security situations. The security situation is tense.
