JOB DESCRIPTION The Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP) is a technical cooperation programme co-funded by the EU and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and is implemented by GIZ in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Power in Nigeria. NESP aims to establish an enabling environment for private investment in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors in Nigeria and is structured into three units: (1) Electrification Planning; (2) Sustainable Energy Access; and (3) Enabling Environment. The second phase of the Programme (December 2017 – November 2022 / EUR 48 Million) builds upon a first phase (May 2013 – November 2017 / EUR 24.5 Million).
YOUR TASKS 1. Contributions to strategic and conceptual development of the programme like operational planning and implementation of sustainable energy access (on- and off-grid) 2. Coordination and steering of thematic service packages as well as (budget) monitoring, evaluation and reporting as well as ensuring quality of reporting documents 3. Equipment and Service Procurements 4. Knowledge management 5. Represent the interest of GIZ and the programme and communication with stakeholders and partners by participating in and jointly organizing conferences, workshops, webinars or trainings

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. University degree in electrical engineering, in energy economics or similar 2. Many years of experience in the energy sector; private sector experience is an asset 3. Many years of experience working or consulting for donors; experience with GIZ is an asset 4. Several years of experience in Nigeria's energy sector, experience travelling to rural areas in Nigeria is an asset 5. Advanced knowledge on MS Office 6. Knowledge of HOMER and other modelling software is an asset 7. Fluency in English; fluency in German or knowledge of local languages is a strong asset
