JOB PROFILE
1. Reporting to the President, this role will be responsible to advise, coordinate and conduct research that impacts the Bank’s overall operations and are related to economic, financial, infrastructure and development issues and trends across member countries and at a global scale, also taking into account social and environmental factors.
2. This position will also be responsible for managing the preparation and dissemination of research outputs and publications, planning workshops and seminars, and developing and maintaining relations with economic think-tanks, research organizations and academia.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
1. Based on analyses of economic and financial trends both globally and among the member countries, evaluate and map their implications on the Bank’s strategy and operations.
2. Provide economic analyses for selected countries, regions and specific sectors, including projections and forward-looking analysis.
3. Coordinate research on investments, infrastructure, financial markets, growth, innovation, productivity, competitiveness and sustainable development, among other topics of relevance to the Bank's activities.
4. Promote other qualitative and quantitative studies and research, including in support of and jointly with other organizational units of the Bank, in topics such as risk management, project finance, economics of infrastructure, corporate finance, asset pricing, exchange rates, treasury activities, and development impact assessment.
5. Engage in and oversee the preparation of reports, working papers, written briefs and notes to enrich the Bank’s knowledge, research capabilities and impact.
6. Consistent with the Bank’s mandate and research activities, represent NDB in conferences and seminars and develop and maintain relationships with other multilateral development banks and financial institutions, as well as universities, governments, private sector institutions, and other relevant external and internal stakeholders to promote research and share knowledge on topics relevant to the Bank.
7. Provide coaching support and nurture talent to ensure continuous learning and development of the team.
8. Other duties and responsibilities indicated in the organizational structure and in the Department’s Terms of Reference, or assigned from time to time by the President.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
POSITION requirements
1. Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in economic research, having played a senior role in a multilateral development bank, central bank, regulated private sector financial institution, government, university or other research institution.
2. Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, supported by publications and other research work.
3. Familiarity with data sources and in-depth knowledge in macroeconomics, microeconomics, international economics, development economics, financial markets and related fields.
4. Knowledge and experience in building and applying mathematical and econometric models and statistical tools, including through the use of software, codes and other computational techniques and devices.
5. Commitment to build technical analytical capacity of the Bank, nurturing talent and promoting continuous training and development of the team.
6. Strong managerial, communication and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse workforce and to foster team work in a multi-cultural work environment.
7. Exceptional strategic thinking, leading change, problem solving, learning and innovation with high resilience and drive in achieving objectives and goals.
8. PhD in Economics/Finance with distinguished academic record from a reputed university.
