With the dispatch of qualified specialists as development workers, GIZ contributes to the sustainable improvement of living conditions of people in developing and transition countries JOB DESCRIPTION In cooperation with the Service Agency Communities in the One World of Engagement Global and on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development the GIZ conducts project FKPW "Experts for municipal partnerships worldwide". Aim of the project is to support town twinning and municipal partnerships through the deployment of municipal experts and to promote the implementation of partnership projects. Zimbabwe's capital Harare has been connected to the city of Munich through a city friendship since 1996. The aim is to improve sustainable urban mobility planning by capacity development in the Traffic and Transport Section of Harare Municipality in cooperation with the partner city of Munich.
YOUR TASKS 1. Facilitate the preparation and design of a sustainable urban mobility plan. 2. Identify and support the preparation of proposals for funding opportunities, especially for the design and possible implementation of the sustainable urban mobility plan. 3. Advise on the formulation and implementation of Traffic and Transportation Policies, Strategies and Systems in a sustainable way. 4. Collaborate in the evaluation of the feasibility of proposed projects in the transport sector. 5. Capacitate the City Planning Division, in specific the Traffic and Transport Section, at individual and organisational level. 6. Improve the collection and use of data for information-based decision-making. 7. Facilitate and strengthen the cooperation management and partnership network with Munich and facilitate the implementation of the joint Programme of Action in the framework of the climate partnership.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. University degree in Transportation Engineering and –planning or related, Urban Planning with proven expertise in transport planning 2. Proven experience in Capacity Development 3. Several years of work experience in the field of transport, mobility and transportation infrastructure planning 4. technical experience in mobility campaigns, infrastructure financing through international financiers as well as data collection, -management, and –visualization is an asset 5. broad intercultural competence, excellent communication- and networking skills as well as frustration tolerance 6. Previous work experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, at decentralized administrative level and knowledge of municipal partnerships are an asset 7. Driving License 8. Fluency in English; German is an asset
