JOB ADVERT SUMMARY
To provide strategic financial accounting and leadership to the Land Bank Insurance Company/ Land Bank Life Insurance Company (LBIC/LBLIC) and manage the financial health and governance of the organisation.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Setting and driving of the LBIC/LBLIC strategy, Corporate Plan, Shareholder Compact, Policy and Objectivesand Goals with a focus on Financial aspects and regulatory ratios
1. Oversee the development and implementation of the LBIC/LBLIC financial strategy to ensure that the company reaches its financial targets.
2. Develops and executes the financial, commercial strategy aligned with LBIC/LBLIC and monitors crucial drivers of the business and its success incorporating:
(1) Corporate governance
(2) Treasury and investment
(3) Projected returns
(4) Cash management
(5) Shareholder information

3. Provides input into company, vision, direction and strategy in terms of commercial and regulatory environment.
4. Recognises, understands and takes action to manage risks that can impact on the implementation of the business strategy.
5. Monitors and ensures the effective implementation of the financial and commercial strategy
6. Contribute towards the delivery of company financial targets in respect of revenue as part of executive team

Departmental Structure, Design and Service Delivery Model
1. Designs the LBIC/LBLIC operational structures in alignment to the LBIC/LBLIC Strategy and supports the MD in the design of other functions to support the strategic objectives
2. Develop and recommend to the Board of directors the business plans, operational requirements, organisational structure, staffing and budgets that support Financial, Commercial and operations Treasury

Management of Financial Enterprise-
Wide Risk and Financial Governance requirements
1. Clearance of audit findings for LBI – audit findings cleared on time.
2. Provide to the board of director’s assurance that the proper systems and actions are in place to identify and manage business risks and that such risks are within the guidelines established by the board of directors
3. Ensure that the company complies with all relevant legislation and corporate governance standards specifically relating to Financial, Commercial activities.

Financial and Commercial Management
1. Provide support to the Land Bank Group Finance department in the consolidation of reports.
2. Provide monthly financial reports for consolidation to enable consolidation for Group reporting.
3. Provide interim and annual final financial statements to enable consolidation for Group reporting.
4. Assures the accuracy, completeness and integrity of the company’s financial information, reporting and disclosure requirements, and internal control and management, information systems through appropriate policies and procedures, and that the legal requirements in respect of the above have been compiled with.
(1) Report on financial health of the Group to the Board at regular intervals
(2) Oversee the provision of interim financial statements and Annual Report for distribution to shareholders
(3) Responsible for the content of the information contained in the Annual Report and ensure that it complies with regulatory requirements
(4) Presents the financial position of LBIC/LBLIC during results presentations
(5) Delivers financial presentations to media as necessary

5. Create efficiencies and innovative approaches to cost savings and business growth in order to remain competitive, sustain and grow
6. Ensure that the operations are run within financial parameters and that sufficient funds are generated to ensure long term viability of the organisation
7. Ensure that technical accounting, corporate finance and commercial related projects are undertaken and implemented
8. Ensure that valuations are prepared and ready for presentation to the Board and Audit Committee
9. Defines the parameters and conditions for all financial modelling to support financial decisions and operations across LBIC/LBLIC

Treasury and Investment Portfolio Management
1. Ensure the LBIC/LBLIC has a sustainable balance sheet structure focusing on funding, capital management, asset quality
2. Creates an optimal funding strategy for the LBIC/LBLIC
3. Manage Liquidity

Engage, Grow and maintain significant stakeholder relationships and credibility and reputation
1. Maintain and promote relevant relationships across industries and sectors to support the strategic intent
2. Establish strategic alliances with strategic partners identified to provide critical aspects of competitive advantage
3. Create channels of communication across sectors to maintain and cultivate the flow of Information.

Executive and Board Functions
1. Attend all Board and Board Committee meetings
2. Provide input at meetings and lead all discussions relating to LBIC/LBLIC
3. Provide/source ad hoc risk advice to meet organisational requirements
4. Facilitate client interaction across LBIC/LBLIC
5. Ensure that there are sufficient execution capabilities within the Division
6. Contribute to building synergies and cooperation across Departments in LBIC/LBLIC
7. Where required represent LBIC/LBLIC in fiscal, legal, regulatory and/or trade entities
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Honours BCom Accounting and CTA
2. CA (SA)
3. SAICA registration
4. 7 – 10 years Senior Financial Management experience
5. 3 – 5 years Senior Management Experience
6. 5 – 7 years Experienced in Insurance Accounting, Regulations and Regulatory Reporting
