JOB DESCRIPTION
1. The Civil Peace Service is a global program aimed at preventing violence and promoting peace in crisis zones and conflict regions. ZFD advisors support partner organizations in their commitment for dialogue, human rights and peace on a long-term basis.
2. As ZFD program coordinator, you are responsible for the management, operational implementation and further development of the component "Prevention of Displacement and Permanent Reintegration of Formerly Displaced Persons" in the Sidama and Gedeo / Guji areas in Ethiopia. The IDP component is part of the Civil Peace Service Ethiopia and is being implemented within the framework of the special initiative "Tackling the root causes of displacement, reintegrating refugees” of the BMZ.
3. By strengthening dialogue processes the component supports local participatory decision-making processes and the participation of women and young people. Joint activities that reach across ethnic boundaries reinforce social cohesion. The ZFD cooperates with civil society organizations and decentralized administrative structures.
4. You will lead a team of two seconded ZFD advisors and five national staff members. You will be assigned to the GIZ portfolio manager and will manage the component in consultation with the GIZ country office and the ZFD steering team in Bonn. In addition, you will coordinate closely with the coordinator of the other ZFD component in Ethiopia "Dialogue promotion for trust-based land and resource management in the Oromia region". You are based in Hawassa with regular business trips to Addis Ababa.

YOUR TASKS
1. Management and further development of the IDP component, based on the approved ZFD program proposal
2. Networking an strategic cooperation with partner organizations, including local government authorities, civil society and church organizations
3. Technical and disciplinary supervision of national and international ZFD advisors, you support the selection of qualified staff and ensure their introduction and professional development
4. Budget management: financial planning and financial monitoring and ensuring the appropriated use of the CPS budget in order to guarantee financial reporting
5. Communication and coordination with the other ZFD component in Ethiopia, the ZFD program management in GIZ headquarters, the GIZ country office, the German embassy
6. Accompanying ZFD advisors and partner organizations in impact-oriented planning and monitoring of ZFD measures
7. Knowledge management and public relations of the ZFD component
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB

YOUR PROFILE
1. University degree in social/political/cultural sciences or comparable professional qualifications, preferably with a focus on peace and conflict studies
2. Several years of work experience in conflict management and peacebuilding abroad, experience as advisor in Civil Peace Service is an asset
3. Experience in project management, team and personnel management
4. Knowledge and experience of conflict sensitive project management
5. Knowledge of administration and financial management
6. High level of advisory skills, team orientation and intercultural sensitivity
7. Fluent in German and English, regional knowledge
8. Car driving license
