JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is a leading investment management firm in Nigeria, four core business areas; Investment Banking, Asset Management, Securities Trading and Investment Research. The company deploys a full range of capital raising and financial advisory services to meet the needs of corporate and institutional clients. They are currently engaged in several high profile transactions in Agriculture, Power, Oil & Gas, Technology and Financial Services. An opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Vice President, Investment Banking.

JOB PROFILE
1. They looking to hire a vastly experienced Vice President in Investment Banking who will be principally responsible for day-to-day operations of the company and execution of clients’ transactions across these industries.
2. The primary role of the Vice President is to be the “project manager” whether for marketing activities or on a transaction.
3. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and executing all facets of day-to-day deal management and analytical process for transactions for a wide range of client engagements across a variety of industries.
4. As the lead of the Investment Banking division, tasked with managing all operational aspects of the company and assist the Managing Director in the aggressive growth of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. In conjunction with the Managing Director, set the short to medium term direction of the company in terms of business objectives, strategy, financial targets and other vital KPIs
2. Support the Managing Director in developing and implementing marketing and commercial strategies for achieving the company’s business objectives and obligations to its shareholders
3. Lead the origination, structuring and execution of deals/transactions and financing.
4. Act as high-level business development person for gaining new clients and deals through quality relationship with stakeholders – investors, regulators, clients, investment banking partners etc.
5. Develop new network of industry contacts to assist the company in sourcing new business opportunities and maintain C-level client interaction geared at stimulating existing relationships
6. Provide advice and solutions to strategic problems and assist clients in achieving short-term and long-term strategic objectives
7. Manage and negotiate transactions directly with counterparties, including their management and principals as well as their advisors - investment banks, law firms, etc.
8. Continuously analyze the Company's competitive environment by gathering intelligence on investors and competition and take appropriate measures to secure and increase the market share
9. Provide day-to-day leadership and management for the Company towards building an efficient and effective system
10. Collaborate with management to develop and implement plans for efficient operation of the company - systems, processes, and talents required to actualize the growth objectives of the organization
11. Manage performance of all team members – Interns, Analysts and Associates by delegating and reviewing their work while promoting a culture of collaboration in the team
12. Mentor and guide Analysts and Associates in building simple and complex models, valuation and in-depth quantitative analyses in connection with clients’ mandates
13. Oversee preparation and review of pitch books and other marketing materials, including information memoranda, management and Board presentations
14. Maintain thorough knowledge of current trends in various sectors of the economy
15. Adhere to and promote the firm’s core values of integrity, teamwork and entrepreneurship, and culture of innovation within the Investment Banking team
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
A Bachelor’s degree and an MBA or Masters in a related field
2. 10 years’ investment banking experience in reputable investment banks with 3-5 years as a team lead
3. Relevant professional qualifications or certifications
4. Proven in-depth experience in the firm’s focus industries (Agriculture, Power, Oil &Gas,Technology, FMCG and Financial Services) and new product development areas(Project Finance or Structured Finance) will be a clear advantage
5. SEC sponsorship would be considered good advantage

The ideal Candidate should be able to demonstrate:
1. Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
2. Ability to think strategically
3. Detail-oriented with exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
4. Top-notch skills in Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
5. Excellent at financial modelling, valuation and financial statement analysis
6. Great communicator with exceptional writing, verbal and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to lead a variety of projects simultaneously, multitask, take initiative, work independently and with others in a fast-paced, research driven environment
8. Very good understanding of the Nigerian capital markets, the Nigerian Securities and
9. Exchange Commission rules and the Nigerian and global business environment
