OVERVIEW
1. The position will primarily be responsible to manage the General Accounting and the Financial Reporting process at the Bank, advising and implementing International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), managing accounts receivables and payables, overseeing the budgeting and performance management of the Bank.
2. This role is placed with the Finance, Budget and Accounting Department and will report to Chief, Financial Controller.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
1. Implement and manage the policies and guidelines for financial reporting and accounting considering world class procedures and standards in financial management.
2. Review the quarterly and annual preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
3. Review all financial transactions of the Bank and transaction processing operations in adherence to policies and procedures.
4. Focus on developing operating procedures to reduce operational and financial risks.
5. Review of complex accounting transactions to ensure that the accounting treatment is in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
6. Review accounts receivables and payables.
7. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and ensure sound management of day-to-day financial operations, authorisations of administrative expenses, etc.
8. Review of financial information required to be submitted to the Rating Agencies.
9. Review of Bank’s Budget preparation and performance management.
10. Monitor the Bank’s Budget in accordance with policies and guidelines.
11. Other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum of 7-9 years of relevant professional experience in a multilateral development bank or equivalent, or a regulated private/public sector financial institution in handling financial reporting including exposure to IFRS.
2. Knowledge of financial service sector, infrastructure sector, financial accounting principles, financial reporting standards and their applications within the different member countries is desirable.
3. Prior experience of financial reporting in multilateral development banks or commercial banks is a pre-requisite.
4. Experience of dealing with external stakeholders (Regulators, Auditors, Borrowers, Government Officials) is desirable.
5. Knowledge of technology-based accounting systems and applications.
6. Exceptional problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills with high resilience and drive in achieving objectives and goals.
7. Ability to plan and coordinate schedules in order to meet deadlines.
8. Analytical and systematic with strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
9. Relevant experience in a multi-cultural work environment fostering a climate of teamwork and collaboration.
10. Master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant professional field from a reputed university or a professional qualified accountant. Relevant certification/s (e.g., CFA, FRM or CIA, etc.) from globally recognized certification agencies in the related field would be a plus.
