ABOUT
Our client , a manufacturing company with factories outside lagos is currently in need of a Transport/Logistic Manager who will be responsible for managing the overall dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
1. Planning and supervising the shipments from production to the end-user
2. Schedule daily and weekly routes
3. Tracking orders using functional systems (e.g. barcodes and tracking software)
4. Coordinating with Warehouse Workers to ensure proper storage and distribution of products
5. Monitoring and report on transportation costs
6. Ensuring shipping documents are properly filed
7. Reporting maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment
8. Researching and suggest cost-effective shipping methods
9. Conducting regular safety audits on equipment
10. Organizing training sessions for employees (e.g. proper use of machines and handling of hazardous material)
11. Keeping organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders
12. Stay up-to-date with safety regulations
13. Collaborating with staff members to formulate and implement transportation-related procedures as well as company revenue goals and customer service objectives.
14. Arranging repairs and routine maintenance of transportation vehicles.
15. Ensure Compliance with transportation-related policies, as well as safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.

| REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
1. Bachelor's degree in logistics, business management, engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5years experience as a transportation manager in a similar industry.
3. Solid knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics.
4. Experience working with union contracts and transportation-related government regulations.
5. Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics.
6. Experience working with transport management systems and warehouse management software.
7. Ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations.
8. Excellent leadership skills.
9. Good conflict resolution skills.
