JOB DESCRIPTION
If you are interested in a new challenge and the prospect of accompanying the political reform process under the newly elected 7th Republican President of Zambia on behalf of Germany and the European Union excites you, we would like to invite you to join our team of experts as an intern.

GIZ has been supporting various institutions of the Zambian public financial sector covering a multitude of topics since 2005. Our experts from the Good Financial Governance (GFG) Programme work closely with representatives from the Ministries of Finance and National Development Planning as well as the Tax Authority. Due to the recent change in national leadership, we expect major reform initiatives on budgeting, taxation, public procurement, and development planning.

To support these processes, we need your help. The internship will give you the opportunity to gain insights into our advisory work in strengthening good governance in public institutions. You will also get to know the way GIZ works in supporting partners, in reporting to stakeholders as well as in conceptualizing the next chapter of our project.

YOUR TASKS
During your internship you will support the following tasks:
1. Support in the conceptualizing of interventions areas for the follow-on phase of the project
2. Support in ensuring that capacity building measures for project partners are targeted and sustainable
3. Support the publicity and visibility work of the project in line with European Union standards
4. Conducting independent research projects on topics related to public financial management
5. Support to the project’s monitoring & evaluation system incl. communication of results and reporting to project stakeholders i.e. the European Union (EU) and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
6. Support to the project’s knowledge management
7. Support in donor coordination in the public financial sector
8. Contributing to the development of new cooperation formats with the private sector
