SUMMARY
A Lawyer supports Senior Lawyers and Partners to provide services to local and foreign clients in accordance with their legal needs in general and sometimes assist in solving a variety of corporate, legal and regulatory issues which include but is not limited to the following:
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Legal research and due diligence
2. Interviewing clients and attending site meetings
3. Taking depositions, minutes and report writing.
4. Drafting legal documents including addresses, pleadings, discovery, motions and briefings; contracts, resolutions,
5. Structure and negotiate business transactions
6. Preparation of court processes
7. Attending court proceedings to represent clients and argue motions
8. Meeting with clients
9. Preparation of draft legal opinions
KNOWLEDGE
1. A law degree – a post graduate degree may be an advantage.
2. Call to the Bar
3. Knowledge of the Nigerian Legal system
4. Knowledge, certification and experience in any specialist area such as litigation, commercial or other areas of arbitration, Venture Capital etc.
